Learn about our current treatment approach

  • At Crossover Recovery, our person-centred treatment model ensures each participant receives tailored support through individualised assessments, ongoing evaluations, and measurable outcomes. This approach maximises wellbeing and long-term recovery by adapting to each person's unique needs.

Our structured programme runs for 16 weeks, followed by an additional 8 weeks of needs-based key work and check-ins. Designed for flexibility and accessibility, the programme is delivered through a hybrid model of in-person and online sessions, depending on individual needs and availability.

By addressing the complex challenges of mental health and addiction, our comprehensive treatment plan integrates a series of interconnected support groups. This holistic framework fosters wellbeing, empowerment, and sustainable change. The graph on this page outlines the structure of our treatment programme for our young persons' programme.

  • Our programme is structured to provide targeted support through various stages, ensuring a holistic and personalised approach to mental health and addiction recovery. For example, the content of our young person’s programme would look like the following:

    Initial Assessment

Each young person undergoes a comprehensive initial assessment to identify behavioural patterns, thoughts, and triggers underlying their mental health concerns. This foundational step ensures their journey through the programme is tailored and effective.

    COVID-19 Group (6-Week Cycle)

Recognising the lasting impact of the pandemic, this group provides a safe space for young people to explore its effects on their lives. Discussions focus on emerging challenges and behaviours, offering insight and strategies for coping and adaptation. The group is facilitated by both key workers and a therapist.

Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Group (6-Week Cycle)

This specialised support group addresses mental health challenges young people face. Facilitators guide participants through key topics affecting their emotional wellbeing, equipping them with practical coping strategies to support long-term mental health resilience.

Life Skills Groups (Hard and Soft Skills) (4-Week Cycle)

Participants can choose between hard and soft skills groups, based on an initial assessment of their needs. These groups offer a creative and developmental outlet, fostering personal growth and confidence.

    • Hard Skills Group: Focuses on practical abilities such as CV building, presentation skills, and creative activities like music, art, and gardening.

    • Soft Skills Group: Enhances interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, self-confidence, and critical thinking, helping participants navigate social interactions more effectively.

    Therapy Sessions (6-Week Bundles)

For those requiring individual support, therapy sessions provide a safe and confidential space to discuss challenging emotions and situations. Using solution-focused strategies, participants are empowered to make positive changes. Long-term therapy referrals are available if needed. Sessions are led by a therapist on a six-week cycle.

    Signing Back into the Community

As participants complete the programme, they receive structured support to ensure a smooth transition back into their community. This stage focuses on maintaining progress and applying learned skills in real-life settings.

    Follow-Up Support

To reinforce long-term wellbeing, follow-up check-ins take place at four and eight weeks post-programme completion. These check-ins assess progress, challenges, and any additional support needs, ensuring that each young person continues to thrive.

  • Group Scheduling

All group sessions, including therapy, Emotional Wellbeing, COVID-19, and Soft & Hard Skills, are scheduled in alignment with their respective cycles and tailored to participants’ availability.

    Collaboration and Planning

Our therapist and key workers work closely to design and plan each group session, ensuring they effectively address the specific needs of participants.

    Delivery and Support

Sessions are facilitated by the therapist and key workers, who create a nurturing and informative environment using their expertise and experience. Each session follows a structured approach to achieve clear objectives and encourage active engagement.
To provide flexibility and accessibility, sessions are delivered both in person and online through a hybrid model.

    Progress Monitoring

Participants’ progress is regularly assessed and evaluated to ensure that services remain effective and responsive to their needs.

    Keywork

Keyworking provides personalised support, helping participants set and achieve their goals. Using a solution-focused approach, key workers guide young people towards positive recovery outcomes and long-term success.
